Today, August 21st, marks 140 years since the apparition at Knock.
This is the date that has been chosen as the first day of our 54 Day Rosary Novena, as we join in with countries from around the world, to prepare for the Rosary on the Coast (and other inland locations) for Life and Faith. This year Sunday October 13th has been chosen because it is the date of the great Miracle of the Sun in Fatima, witnessed by 70,000 people, and also the date of Ireland's consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

On 13th October 1875, 42 years to the date before the Miracle of the Sun in Fatima, Apostle of the Rosary, Bartolo Maria Longo was walking in Pomepii and inspired by the Holy Spirit to find a painting of Our Lady to start a Rosary Confraternity.
He was gifted with a miraculous painting of Our Lady and the infant Jesus in the presence of St Dominic and St Rose. Many miraculous healings followed, three in the first month alone, one of whom was a priest who was dying and had gangrene and after the paining was brought to him, miraculously healed and he offered mass the next morning. Soon, thousands flocked to Pompeii to pray the rosay in front of the painting.
This year we have an urgent request to make of Our Lady with the 54 Day Rosary Novena. Ireland is in dire need of a miracle by October 21st to avert the imposition of abortion and other laws by the British Parliament on Northern Ireland. We are asking you to pray the Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries each day, for 54 days, if you can.
We realise that the strength of this great all island prayer initiative is in our willingness to respond to Our Lady’s invitation. Despite pain and difficulty for some, inconvenience, effort and time, for most of us, we join our Heavenly Queen and Mother in her great and powerful Rosary.
Let's join many others each day of the Novena and on October 13th as we gather with countries all over the world with our Mother Mary in her great mission for Life and Faith…..that with her Spouse the Holy Spirit….”shalt renew the face of the earth!”
We are asking you to pray the Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries each day, for 54 days, if you can.
You many include this intention in your daily rosaries.
27 Days of Petition followed by 27 Days of Thanksgiving makes up what became known as the Miraculous Rosary Novena. This boquet of rosaries was approved by Pope Leo XIII in 1887.
